eXstreamLITE is a robust, secure network device that ensures the optimal use of expensive Internet bandwidth through a unique blend of Internet traffic classification, bandwidth shaping and traffic prioritisation engines.

Installed on the perimeter of a company network, between the LAN and Internet router, eXstreamLITE unobtrusively controls Internet traffic to ensure efficient use of all available bandwidth, utilising downloadable policy-based profiles. The eXstream device logically separates Internet protocols (i.e.email, http, downloads), creating a highly efficient and manageable environment without compromising productivity.

eXstreamLITE combines the power of a full-featured and robust shaping engine, together with a simple and easy-to-use Web-based front-end from which a number of preconfigured shaping profiles can be selected. eXstreamLITE offers all the advantages of traffic shaping without special knowledge of TCP/IP traffic.

Features

eXstreamLITE facilitates three core functions:

Internet Usage Monitoring and Graphing

eXstreamLITE provides historic graphing of Internet traffic, which is stored for on-demand administrative access. This information is crucial when motivating and planning future bandwidth upgrades, policy reconfiguration and trend analysis.

Monitoring and Graphing Network Utilisation

The integrated eXstreamLITE administration interface incorporates graphical representation of top talkers and top listeners between the Internet and your network, as well as the applications they use, identifying causes of high congestion. The Management Interface also includes a list of visited web sites by employee.

Partitioning and Controlling Internet Bandwidth

eXstreamLITE partitions your Internet link into separately manageable streams of data based upon application type and protocol, each with its own limits and priorities. This ensures that slow, non-critical traffic does not interfere with real-time business critical applications. If a partition is not fully utilised, the excess bandwidth is automatically available to applications from other partitions. eXstreamLITE makes it possible to enforce Internet-usage policies automatically without wasting any bandwidth. Standard management profiles are pre-loaded and these can be periodically updated from the eXstream web site as part of the software maintenance agreement.

Q-Pass
Q-Pass

Q-Pass is an Active Directory aware password renewal system, integrating directly with Microsoft’s Active Directory, Novell's NDS and OpenLDAP to enhance security, ease management and create a more reliable network environment.

Background

User authentication management is one of the most difficult tasks for businesses to effectively implement and manage. Administrators, for security reasons, require that users change their passwords more and more frequently, whilst users are faced with the challenge of remembering constantly changing passwords. Users eventually escape this process by resorting to exceptionally weak, easy to remember passwords. The ultimate setback for security is when users rely on handwritten notes, generally pasted on the edge of user’s screens, to keep track of passwords.

Features

Q-Pass uses GSM SMS messages to issue new passwords to users, ensuring that the password replacement process is kept secure, yet simple.

As and when users forget their passwords, a simple call to Q-Pass from the user’s cellphone immediately initiates the password issuing mechanism. The Q-Pass device is shipped with a GSM modem which rejects calls received by the device, effectively preventing any call from being established and eliminating end-user call costs. Caller-ID is then used to identify the user within the Active Directory. The user’s authentication credentials are then updated in the Active Directory and a One-Time Password (OTP) is issued to the user via Flash SMS. This password will allow the user to authenticate only once. The user will then be required to change the OTP to a password of their choice.

The Q-Pass device is merely a plug-in addition for existing infrastructures and does not introduce a potential single point of failure.
